Because what really matters is getting your point across

Experience

I began my freelance translator career in 1999 after obtaining my master’s degree in English from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, and it has been my full-time occupation since 2001. During that time, I have translated thousands of documents in a variety of areas, mainly focusing on business communications and legal affairs for the information and communications technology industry.

Relevance

My main goal as a translator is to ensure that your texts retain their original relevance and impact in the target language. This requires a great deal of attention to nuances of meaning, familiarity with the subject matter, and understanding of the target audience’s expectations. As obvious as it may sound, this is something that often gets overlooked in a market dominated by large language service providers who follow a generalist, “one fits all” approach.

Quality

In today’s translation industry, terms such as “quality” and “quality assurance” are increasingly associated with formalized and often automated processes and procedures rather than actual linguistic diligence. While computer-based quality assurance (QA) tools can be useful in detecting simple human errors, they cannot replace the human translator: an experienced linguist who is well versed in both the specific subject matter and the intricacies of the source and target languages. By scrutinizing the text over and over (and working with a trusted reviewer), I can make sure that it is correct, clear and unambiguous, that it flows smoothly and reads well, and above all – that it conveys the exact meaning you want it to. In addition, I can help you with the technical aspects of your documents, such as formatting, correct use of styles, etc.

Security and confidentiality

I fully appreciate the sensitive nature of your information and the need to take all appropriate precautions to ensure that it stays confidential. In addition to the standard non-disclosure commitment (which is a given in any client-contractor relationship), I can assure you that your content will never be sent to subcontractors without your express authorization, placed on third-party servers or in the cloud, or fed into online (or offline) “machine translation” systems.
